Kofi Annan Begs African Leaders

The African Green Revolution forum held at the Accra International Conference Centre has ended last on Saturday with a call on Ghana and other African governments to stop paying lip-service to agriculture and implement policies that will help transform the sector into a profitable business venture.

 
GRIDCO calls on communities to help protect high tension poles

The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCO) Limited, has called on communities in the Ho Municipal area to help protect its high tension poles against encroachment by sand-winners, estate developers and people looking for scrap metals.

This followed large scale sand winning a few feet from a 69 kilo volt pole on the Akrofu-Bame road in the Ho municipal area and the vandalising of some of it.

A revered minister has says pastors should always concern themselves with issues affecting members of the society.

Very Rev Dr C.K. Coffie, Superintendent Minister In-charge of the Gethsemane Society of the Methodist Church at Afrancho, near Kumasi, said the gospel ministry should be holistic affecting people spiritually, economically and politically whiles also tackling environmental issues.

GBA cautions lawyers against prejudicial comments

The Ghana Bar Association has issued a stern warning to its members to desist from commenting on cases in the media in which they serve as counsel.

In a statement the GBA said the practice goes against its ethics and amounts to misconduct.
