GHANAIANS ARE grateful to President John Evans Atta Mills for hosting the 7th African Investment Forum in Accra, especially for his ability to convince the leadership of the Commonwealth Business Council (CBC) to shift the venue from South Africa to Ghana.

The issue of electricity has become a thorn in the flesh of many Ghanaians. It serves no purpose if generated electrical energy is not transmitted to the people.

The private sector has always been described as the engine of growth in most emerging economies. For this growth to be achieved, individual business men and women should be able to have access to credit.

West Africa has the singular and tragic distinction of being one of the places in the world where overall livelihoods are deteriorating.

SO SOON, we are in the third week of 2010. Many businesses, particularly small and medium scale enterprises, are beginning to wake up to a new year and the prospects it holds for them.

WE first thank God Almighty for ushering us all peacefully into 2010. This is very important since we owe our very lives to Him whether we like it or not.
